privacy, in plain language.
The waitlist stores your email for launch updates. The website’s character is a prerecorded example. Personal learning data belongs on your phone when you use the app.
Parrot waitlist
If you join the waitlist, we store your email address, signup date, and the version of the signup notice you accepted. We use this information for Parrot launch updates. The list is stored privately in Cloudflare D1 through OpenAI Sites, separately from app learning data. Joining does not create an app account or enroll you in research. Entries do not currently expire automatically. You can request removal or correction through support. Deleting the app does not remove a separate waitlist entry.
Website visits and security
The website and its private waitlist database run on OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare. Hosting providers process technical request information, such as IP addresses and browser details, to deliver and protect the site. Cloudflare may set security cookies for bot protection. We do not add advertising or visitor analytics to this landing page, and we do not store IP addresses or browser details in the waitlist table.
Photos and the character preview
The photo and animated character shown here are the creator’s own example. Viewing the preview or joining the waitlist does not upload your photos, record your microphone, or create a clone. Any future photo-based character setup will explain its processing, providers, retention, and deletion controls before asking you to submit a photo.
The WhatsApp link
Opening the community link takes you to WhatsApp, which processes information under its own privacy policy. Joining is optional. Your profile, phone number, and messages may be visible to others according to WhatsApp’s community and group settings. A waitlist signup does not automatically join the community.
Learning data in the app
Parrot stores learner settings, saved words and phrases, definitions, examples, review history, session recaps, and generated study audio on your phone. The beta has no cloud learning backup or restore. Deleting the app permanently deletes this device-only learning library.
Requests in transit
When you use the app, text or audio needed for a requested feature passes through Parrot and its speech, language, and voice providers. The ordinary product path does not durably store microphone audio, typed thoughts, transcripts, rewrites, definitions, review content, or generated speech on the Parrot backend. Separately consented research contributions are the exception described below. Service providers process requests under their own terms and retention practices.
Optional research contribution
Adults may keep every correction private, contribute only a changed-word pattern, or contribute that pattern plus an eligible corrected recording of 0.75 to 15 seconds. Exact correction history stays on the phone. Text contributions use fixed safe-vocabulary identifiers, are combined only after five rotating contributors match, and otherwise expire within 30 days. Corrected audio is isolated, encrypted, and hard-deleted within 30 days. Contribution never changes features or rewards.
Optional voice setup
If you choose voice setup, consented audio is sent to Cartesia to create a private voice. Parrot keeps an encrypted provider reference and voice lifecycle state, but does not retain enrollment audio on its backend after processing. Cartesia hosts the derived voice resource under its own terms. Separately opted-in automatic voice personalization can retain up to 60 seconds of selected ordinary spoken thoughts in a protected, non-backed-up local vault for up to 30 days of eligibility. Expired clips are never uploaded and are purged on the next vault access; withdrawal clears the vault immediately. This does not enroll you in research.
Anonymous access
The app’s anonymous access system does not require a name, email address, Apple login, or Google login. Parrot keeps a keyed hash of a random device credential, access state, encrypted voice references, and content-free quota totals. The separate website waitlist does collect your email and is not linked to your anonymous app record.
Retention and deletion
Use Delete all Parrot data in Settings to erase the learning library, revoke anonymous access, request deletion of hosted voice resources, and delete pending research contributions for which the phone still holds a deletion capability. Inactive anonymous records and associated clones enter cleanup after 90 days. Research clips and uncombined patterns expire within 30 days.
Sharing
Parrot uses service providers to operate and secure the website, store the waitlist, and deliver requested app features. It does not sell personal information, show advertising, or use cross-app tracking. Providers may process information outside your country.
